Questions, answered

Is the Portal suitable for young children?

Yes. It was designed with children in mind as well as parents. Pictures and audio duas and ziyarat mean little ones who aren't reading yet can still follow along.

Is there a subscription?

No. There is no monthly fee. The features on your Portal are yours to use without a subscription.

Will it get new features?

Yes. Ahlbyt releases software updates over the air, and they install automatically while the Portal is connected to WiFi.

Which prayer-time method does it use?

Prayer times follow the Jaafari method (Leva Research Institute, Qom). You choose your region, and you can fine-tune the times manually to match your local masjid.

What do I need to set it up?

A power outlet and a WiFi network. The Portal runs on mains power only, with no internal battery, so it needs to stay plugged in. It connects to 2.4 GHz WiFi using WPA2-Personal security; if your router uses WPA3, switch it to WPA2-Personal. Ahlbyt's setup video walks you through it.

What's in the box?

The Portal, a power adapter with US, UK and AU plugs, and a quick-start card.

Who handles warranty and technical support?

Ahlbyt, the maker of the Portal. Your Portal carries a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, and Ahlbyt's support team helps with setup and technical questions on WhatsApp at +61 480 043 301. For anything about your order, delivery or a return, contact our team.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 7 days of delivery. If your Portal arrives defective or damaged, contact us and we will make it right. A return for any other reason carries a 15% restocking fee: an opened device has to be inspected, reset and repackaged, and it can no longer be sold as new. The full terms are in our return policy.
